Cycad was a Nomai geology apprentice under Coleus who worked on providing the ore for the Ash Twin Project's supernova-resistant shell.[1]
Advanced Warp Core discussion[]
During a discussion on whether the Nomai should retrieve the Vessel's Advanced Warp Core from Dark Bramble, Cycad pointed out that his mentor Coleus and Melorae had found out that the Anglerfish were blind, and that they could use this knowledge to avoid them.[2] However, Coleus quickly reminded him that they had never tested their hypothesis on a living Anglerfish.[3]
The Ash Twin Project's shell[]
Later on, Cycad moved with Coleus and Oeno to Timber Hearth, where they identified suitable mining sites for the Ash Twin Project's shell.[4] He initially thought they would use Timber Hearth's ore to build the remaining warp towers on Ash Twin, but Oeno explained to him that they would only use the ore for the protective shell.[5] When they found out that mining site 2a was not safe for the native life living in nearby pools, Cycad proposed going to mining site 2b instead.[6] He was fascinated with the native life, spending hours watching them.[7] Cycad also had a habit of making puns, which Oeno disapproved of but which Coleus tolerated.[1]
Cycad passed away when the Ghost Matter from the Interloper instantly killed all Nomai, after it flooded the solar system without warning.[8]
