The newest addition to the Hearthian's instruments, the translation tool was made by a collaboration between The Protagonist and Hal. It has a range of 3 to 4 meters and can only be equipped when inside of this circle with the Nomai writings. The processing can take some seconds between the click of the translate button until the prompting of the translation, but after that the system will automatically print the results if the reader sweeps again through same scriptures.

The Nomai Language

The written form of the Nomai Language even if not understandable without the translator has some defining features that are worth to pay attention when reading it:

Appearance

It has a recognizable curvy appearance, and because of that, different handwritings can be differed by the precision of the curve.

Reading

An example of how you should read the nomai writtings

First, we have a single curve that represent the beginning of the text. From that, other lines can branch out, and the intended reading sequence is determined as follows:

1. Go to the beginning of the curve;
2. Follow its path until you find a branching out curve;
3. Read it and continue its path. If others branch out, repeat step 2. If not, go back to the previous curve and go to the next one, repeating the process.

Authors

The same writing can have different authors symbolized by the lines that branch out of the first one, it usually means that it is a dialog between them.

The Stranger Language

The stranger language is not translatable by the translater as this was a previously undiscovered language. The translator will simply read "ERROR: Unknown Language" upon trying to translate.

If you talk to Hal in the museum about helping to translate the language, they will remark that the player should provide them with a hundred samples, some form of epigraphical codex, and six month's time for them to develop a vague gist for the language.
